Nissan states that the Altima is 192.9 inches in length, 72.9 inches in width, and has a 111.2 inches distance between the axles. Gun Metallic is a color option available for the 2025 Nissan Altima as shown in the official brochure.

The Budget Set the Limit

The owner wanted to make sure the cost stayed low. Including PPF for the entire car was not in the original plan. ‘Full Front also cost more than he wanted to pay for at this point.’ He didn’t want to pay as much as Full Front cost at this time.

That meant we had to protect the parts that get hit first and be okay with some areas not getting painted. Our Partial Front PPF package includes:

Mirror caps are not part of the basic package. We included them as a custom. Because the Altima is parked in public parking lots most days, we decided to add door cups and door edges for protection.

Three Rules Shaped the Job

Most of the gravel, salt, bugs, and road dirt hit the bumper, first 18 inches of the hood, front fender sections, and headlights.
The owner wanted a clear gloss film on the Gun Metallic paint because he liked how it looked. No shiny finish, smooth appearance, or change in color.
The Partial Front PPF does not protect the entire hood. The owner was aware of that and decided to go with the cheaper package instead of getting full-panel coverage.

Why Paint Repair Came Up

We’ve noticed a lot of discussion among Altima owners on Reddit. You won’t find any in-depth conversations in this particular thread, but this response is important:

Why We Used SunTek Reaction

We chose SunTek Reaction Clear Gloss PPF because it matched both the use of the car and the owner’s wash habits.

SunTek claims that Reaction provides protection from gravel, salt, grit, and other dangers on the road. The topcoat repels water and the surface uses heat to make small scratches less visible. Dirt, bugs, and water should be easier to remove from the surface compared to if it was untreated.

The clear shine maintained the original appearance of the Gun Metallic finish. Using matte or satin film on only part of the package wouldn’t work because the covered sections would appear different from the rest.

Work at Our Harlem Avenue Shop

Our team checked the paint in bright light, cleaned the front panels, and repaired some small marks before putting on the film.

The bumper needed a lot of focus because of its grille, lower openings, sensors, and curved corners. We positioned the film hood at an equal and level height. Following that, we wrapped the front areas of the car’s fenders, headlights, mirror covers, door handles, and edges of the doors.

Final Result

This Altima left our Chicago shop with protection where the owner needed it most.
