It was easy to see the orange truck from the street. A lady from Logan Square brought her new 2026 Ford Maverick to our Chicago-Grand shop. She had it for around ten days. The color of the paint was Orange Fury Metallic Tri-Coat.
She deliberately chose the color and told us that she didn’t want to cover the orange. “I only want to protect the front from getting damaged.”
She had a simple plan. Protect the areas that are likely to get dirty and keep the cost low.
Jada and the owner met outside and walked around the Maverick together.
The paint is fresh and has no chips on the hood or bumper. There were some small marks by the back of the load area. They were little, but they demonstrated how the truck would be utilized.
As they talked, the owner repeatedly opened the driver’s door. She touched the area behind the handle with her nails.
In the back, she demonstrated how she picked up boxes and lifted them over the back of the car. The upper part was near the belts, bags, bike parts, and anything else that was placed in the bed.

There was a different kind of risk with the door cups and rear load edge. Every week, the spots would be for hands and cargo.
When you book a Full Front or Full Car PPF Wrap
We used Partial Front PPF as the base of the job.
It covered the front bumper, headlights, the front part of the hood, and the front sections of the fenders.
We also added film to all four door cups and the rear luggage strip.

In bright light, Orange Fury Metallic Tri-Coat looks very shiny. It can appear darker in color.
We applied LLumar Platinum Clear Gloss PPF. The paint did not become satin or matte when the film was applied. The polish preserved the factory shine without changing the color.
That was crucial for this task. It would have seemed strange to have a shiny film on just the front of the truck. Including color PPF was not part of the plan. She had bought Orange Fury and wanted to see it. The clear film was the easiest option.
The parts that were protected still resembled the rest of the Maverick. The film was difficult to see from a short distance.
“The owner knew how she used the truck. She was not asking for every panel to be covered.
She cared about the front edge, the door handles, and the back where she loaded things. We put the film in those spots and kept the orange paint just as it was.”
The owner left the Maverick in the morning. We washed the panels under the shop lights and inspected the paint. We cleaned small amounts of dirt from the front and back of the car.
The bumper was the longest part to work on. It had numerous corners, parts, and bottoms. Then we started to apply the half hood and fender pieces. We arranged the film so that both sides were the same.
Its headlights were small, but they needed to have a sharp edge. Afterwards, we put on the four door cups and the back strip.
The total time of the task was around 7 hours. Before picking up the car, we checked the bumper corners, the edge of the hood, the headlights, the door cups, and the rear strip.

That evening, the Maverick left our shop.
The orange paint was still vibrant. The front received assistance in dealing with regular road wear and tear. The door and rear edge were protected for everyday use. The PPF job was small, but it protected the important parts of the truck.
